Don't Worry

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:33-‭34‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Seeking His kingdom and His righteousness comes as a command and a promise in the book ends of the command, “do not worry.” In this passage reminding us to not worry and trust the Lord comes a reminder of how to do that: by seeking Him. When Peter the disciple got out of the boat to walk on water to the Lord in Matthew 14, God gave him the power to as long as he was looking at Jesus. When he looked away at the wind, he was afraid and started to sink. What a reflection of our little faith! If we fix our eyes on the things that scare and worry us, we flounder. How many reminders do we need to to not be afraid and to trust this God who is the all powerful, sovereign, infinite Creator! Keep seeking Him in His Word, and you will find greater peace and growing faith in the midst of the storm.
